No I just called and Friday Fish fry is not going on
Henry's has/had the greatest buffet around, but in January 2018 one of the owners had a heart attack and the buffet was shut down. I sure hope John Trattles has good news and they are back on track. Wednesdays was build your own Pizza
Yes not very late though 9 er 10
No they stopped the buffet
A true landmark in the UP. This small place was built in the 1890s and still has the original bar. Henry is getting older now so he is not cooking as much as he used to but the food is still great and the service is always good. They get pretty busy during snowmobile season so you may need some patience, but it's worth it. They no longer have gas but you can get gas in Mass City 8 miles up the trail.
There for a noon time meeting and polite service and good food.
Great food and service
The pasties are simply the best! House Bloody Mary is a good one. Good folks, good food, good service. One of my favorite places in the U.P.
Awesome build your own pizza night there but worst ever bloody Marys I've ever tasted. And I ordered on several occasions as everyone kept raving over their " famous" bloody Marys. Famously disgusting maybe. Also not a great place to visit if you like alot of elbow room and space. But- their pizza makes up for everything
This is the place my Grandfather took my brothers and sister after dinner when we visited our Grandparents in Rockland. We had a bottle of orange crush, he a shot and a beer. Aunt Sally and Uncle Henry are remarkable role models of what America is built on: Love, Hard work, Family, and Finding Joy in simplicity.
The place is great but the time days 11pm and they close at 9
There is usually a Friday night Fish Fry buffet which is awesome. Unfortunately the owner's wife is sick so that has been put on hold for awhile. Hope she gets better soon. The hamburgers and ham sandwiches were wonderful. The beer is cold and the food is good. It is worth the trip.
What great service... thanks
Cold beer good service
Always a pleasant experience to be had here. You can feel the history of the place and the menu is quite large considering the small area they have for food prep.
Hole in the wall restraunt with fantastic food.
We were on the way to Porcupine Mountains last October, and wanted to find a place to sleep that night. Every place was full. Fortunately, we finally found Henry's Inn! Homemade pizza was free and awesome! Apartment was nice, just like home, equipped with everything in the kitchen. The brunch buffet in the next day was wonderful. All in all, Henry's Inn saved our lives when we had no place to go. Thanks a lot!
Great little spot to stop at off the ATV and snowmobile trail. Always had good food and friendly service but this place is a bar. People complaining about language when they go to eat at a bar are kidding themselves. Hope you get well soon Sally.
Order the grilled ham and cheese! It's amazing! My husband had the half a heifer and it was so good that he was disappointed when he couldn't finish it! If you are in the area this is a must stop.
Worst service. Tried 3x over 2 years. Same every time no matter who's working. :(
Very cool historic building with awesome food
My family tries to get as many people together once a year and visit Henry's on a Fri/Sat night. We usually will pack the place with everyone else and it's a great time! You eat til you can't possibly eat anymore. Tons of different options and all are very tasty! Not a place to go if you want a lot of personal space but I personally love the environment.
Leona and Susie are the best hardworking people you'd ever want be behind the bar. Thank you for the wonderful experience
Great spot!! Amazing food, great atmosphere!! A must stop while snowmobilings in the Rockland area!
Had a great dinner! Pasties are the true original Cornish Pasty recipe made fresh on Thursdays. So darn good! Thirsty Thursday in top of it makes it awesome. Even the darn coleslaw is home made. Who does that anymore?! Prices are amazing too. You need to try. A true yupper delight. If you are expecting Olive Garden or Applebee's don't bother.
Bar tender was super, atmosphere fun.. but need to get hot chocolate machine fix🙁, in below degree weather.
Amazing food all around. The fish fry is awesome! The pizza day is awesome! The brunch is also amazing! Ha you thought I was going to say awesome. XD
Stopped there for lunch aug 13th 2019, 8 motorcycles from Northern Ontario Canada. Miss Gagnon was A1. We played guitar and sang a few songs while waiting for our meals. In and out in 1 hour. Awsome little tavern and great service.
Nicely located off of the ATV trails. We’ve been here before and the prices were just incredibly expensive but our most recent visit was pleasant. The prices were fair and the food was good. Lots of choices in alcohol. Also one of the only restaurants in the way upper Michigan area.
Always a wonderful experience! Good food always, been there for the Friday fish buffet, Saturday pizza buffet and the Sunday breakfast buffet.. Always more then to be expected...I recommend to anyone passing thru... 5 star :)
Excellent. Great Service. Great Food. Great Portions. Great Price.
SMORGASBORD. Owners are fabulous. Pretty busy but well worth any wait you may endure. Don't judge this book by the cover
We love Henry's! Everyone is friendly and the food is good. While they've stopped doing the different buffets, e.g. "Build Your Own Pizza" "Italian Night" and the "Friday Night Fish Fry," we got wonderful, hand made burgers and fries. The atmosphere is unique!
Love Henry's Inn! It was so nice seeing Henry there tonight. Very good food and Bloody Mary's were awesome.
What a trip! This place is certainly unique. It reminded me of a family gathering after a son comes home from college for the first time and mom making ALL of his favorite foods for the smorgasbord! They only do the smorgasbord Friday – Sunday and it was set up in an odd order within the bar itself, but for $14 per person, all-you-can-eat homemade comfort food without having to wait was great. Just grab and plate and pile it on with what you can find. Their dessert table is huge and if their bread pudding is there, definitely get that! Just make sure you bring cash (or check…what?! Lol).
I have a lot of memories here because my Grandmother used to work here until she passed away in 2005 and whenever I walk in through those doors. I get flooded with nothing but good memories. It's hard for me to walk in there sometimes because sometimes I just get overwhelmed... But, I loved going there as a kid and I hope that one day I can drink a beer there in memory of my Grandmother. Also, I should mention that the staff pretty much feels like family and it's always a welcoming feeling.
Loved Henry's Friday Fish Fry but due to illness, they no longer have it. Also cancelled are the breakfast buffet and "Make your own pizza". They do serve some items but when we were there (mid afternoon) there was one gal working to do food and bartend. No tap beer and you have to ask for a glass. Hate to see an iconic place go down hill.
Always inviting; Always great food.
We stop here every U.P. trip. I love the atmosphere and food! The staff are amazing as well.
Great food. Locals are friendly so are the bartenders. Place is usually busy but if you don't mind waiting you're going to get good food. They have build your own pizzas on Wednesday nights and they have an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord on Friday and Saturday nights. Everything is a home-cooked
Place was busy with lots of Snowmobilers..Henny was telling stories about the old days. Nice old historical Bld.
What a friendly place and great bar
Very cool piece of history, bartenders are busy but awesome. Food is great.
Good food. Right next to cabin.
Only had some simple salad here, but the place is full of history and wonderful decor!
We went here after a long day of adventuring around the area hoping for some decent food. Turns out it was smorgasbord night and we were just in time for the perfect resupply! Loads of delicious fresh food of all shape and size. Wings, ham, chicken, salad, dessert, veggies, I can't remember everything I ate. All I know is we were full afterwards. Definitely worth a stop, if only because it's the only joint in town! The interior is nifty too.
Amazing food
Outstanding Reuben sandwich
Great place great food
We stopped in on a Saturday and you could not order off the menu as they had a Saturday smorgasbord going on. Our total for five adults and five kids came out over $100 I ate 1 piece of pizza, a salad, a stuffed roll and 2 strawberries, my niece at 2 small pieces of waltermelon and a few grapes (she is 2 and ended up not feeling good so would not eat) and my 1 year old nephew who ate very little. We had to pay 3.95 for each of there meals and Mine was 13.95 and I still had to cook when I got home. Everyone always told me they had such good food well me myself don't care if I every go back. I could have waited until I got home and ordered a pizza for way less as all we wanted was to order a pizza but were told we couldn't order off the menu (the menus were sitting on the table they shouldn't have been there if we couldn't order off them) also we were never told how much it cost until we got our check.
Very nice stop. Our waitress was very nice. Try the spicy bloody Mary.
Good burgers and friendly service
Excellent homemade food n service. They really put their heart into cooking. A must try if you haven't already. Also they offer Friday smorgasbord from 5-9p.
Some of the best food in upper Michigan. Hopefully Sally and Henry come back soon. The bartender that was helping us was not very professional. They have one of the best buffets around but they aren't doing it as of now. Hopefully they will be bringing it back soon.
